Gay/Bi Men of Color Health Fair
United Black Ellument (UBE), a program of Resource Center, is proud to present its first Health and Wellness Fair for same-gender loving men of color in North Texas. The Gay Men of Color Health Fair will be held on Saturday April 26th from 11 a.m – 3 p.m. at the John Thomas LGBT Community Center (2701 Reagan St., Dallas, TX 75219). Many same-gender loving men of color are economically disadvantaged and lack access to health services due to a variety of issues and barriers. The Gay Men of Color Health Fair will bridge the gap in services, but also educate community members about the risks for diseases often neglected in yearly health screenings. UBE will have vendors/exhibitors to promote all five dimensions of health (physical, social, emotional, Financial, and Spiritual). Screenings that will be offered include: HIV, syphilis, hepatitis C, gonorrhea, oral cancer, blood pressure, and glucose.
