Hey Guys,

As they say, “knowledge is power,” and knowing your status is powerful, especially when you’re talking about HIV and STDs.

You already know about U-BE’s Safer Sex Guidelines, and we want to make sure you have the tools to understand what resources are available in the community so that you can know your current HIV status at ALL times.

We recommend all young black men get an HIV test every six months, or more, if you have concerns or maybe you had a slip up.

Knowing your status is important to your future.  Treatment for HIV is light-years ahead of what it used to be.  Meds are not the total solution, but they are helping guys live longer and healthier lives.  If you find out that you are HIV-positive, you and your healthcare provider can plan early treatment, improving your chances of slowing down the progression of the virus.  That’s why it’s always better to know because early treatment is better for your body.
