How We Source

How we verify claims

When this guide describes a clinic, nonprofit, or program, we start from that organization's own public statements, then check them against an independent record where one exists. For nonprofit status, that usually means the IRS's Tax Exempt Organization Search or a Candid (GuideStar) profile showing an organization's EIN and Form 990 filings, rather than taking a claim of nonprofit status at face value.

Details that change often, such as hours, fees, and eligibility rules, are described in general terms and linked to the organization's own page rather than restated as if they were permanent. We would rather send you to the source than publish something that goes stale.

How we handle history

Where a page describes the history of an organization or event, including ones no longer active under their original name, we cite named, dated sources for specific claims and note where sources disagree or where a claim could not be independently confirmed. We do not invent dates, quotes, or statistics to fill gaps in the record.

What we will not do

• We will not accept payment for placement, mention, or favorable coverage.
• We will not publish testimonials, ratings, or statistics we cannot trace to a source.
• We will not imply a partnership, endorsement, or affiliation with an organization we write about unless one has been documented.

Every photograph on this site is a real, licensed photograph of an actual Dallas place. No imagery on this site is AI-generated. Public-domain and CC0 images carry no license requirement to display a credit; they are listed here anyway for full transparency. The one CC BY-SA image requires attribution, which is also shown where it appears.
